Our Staff Picks!
In honor of National Sewing Month, we're excited to share some of our very own staff picks with you. From beginner to advanced, our team shows off their skills and favorite tools to inspire your next sewing adventure.
Meet Lea
Lea is the Digital Content Manager for mySewnet at SINGER®. She oversees product feature awareness and project engagement for the mySewnet Studio and Library, which provide inspirational content and essential project files. As a passionate sewist since age nine, taught by her great-grandmother, she enjoys skill-building and mastering new techniques. Currently, she's working on a sentimental project—an envelope pillow cover made from an old college shirt. Her go-to machine is the SINGER® Simple™ 3337, particularly for its Sew Easy foot, which ensures consistent and polished seams.
Meet Victoria
Victoria is the communications specialist for SVP Worldwide, where she oversees the brand ambassador program, partnerships, and donations requests. Passionate about connecting with talented sewists across the U.S. and Canada, Victoria also finds joy in giving back to the creative community. A lifelong upcycle sewist, she creates unique t-shirt quilts and upcycles thrift store finds, using SINGER's Heavy Duty machines for her projects. Her journey into sewing began as a child, learning from her teacher, Ms. Faucet, on antique SINGER machines, which sparked her love for vintage.
Meet Emily
Emily is the Assistant Manager of Global Integrated Marketing at SVP Worldwide, where she creates exciting campaigns and sewing projects to accompany new machine launches. With 14 years of sewing experience, Emily is an adventurous sewist who enjoys everything from clothing to quilts, but her true passion lies in embroidery, embellishing, and upcycling. She loves the versatility of the SINGER® SE9180 Sewing and Embroidery Machine, which allows her to easily switch between sewing and embroidery without changing machines. Emily's advice for sewists is to "sew what makes you happy," reminding others that creativity is a journey and that mistakes are part of the process.
Meet Soni
Soni, the Director of Education for North America at SVP Worldwide, has been passionate about sewing since her 4-H days as an 8-year-old. From garment sewing to quilting and crafting, Soni embraces every opportunity to learn and expand her skills. She’s excited to incorporate the Momento into her crafting projects, using it to perfect her applique pieces and scribe beautiful fonts for personalized touches. Currently, she’s working on seasonal banners, placemats, and napkin sets. The SINGER® Patchwork Plus is her go-to machine, especially for its decorative stitches and quilting accessories. Her advice for sewists? "Everyone was a beginner once! Don't be afraid to try, and learn from your mistakes."
