Details

The Even Feed / Walking Foot evenly feeds multiple layers of fabric without sliding or puckering, and is a must-have when quilting. It is also great for matching plaids or stripes and sewing fabrics with nap or pile, to keep them from shifting. The foot has its own set of feed dogs that work in conjunction with the sewing machine’s feeding system for perfect fabric feeding!

How to Use:

1. Remove the presser foot and presser foot ankle.

2. Position the arm of the Walking Foot over the needle clamp screw and attach to the shank of the machine with the screw. Tighten securely. Note: As the needle goes up and down, the feed dogs also move up and down, thus pulling the upper layer of fabric evenly along with the lower fabric.

3. Select the straight, zigzag, or other desired stitch. Do not select stitches with many backward stitches.

4. Place fabrics under the Even Feed Foot and stitch.

Frequently Asked Questions - SINGER Even Feed / Walking Presser Foot

The SINGER Even Feed Foot, also known as a Walking Foot, is essential for quilting and sewing multiple layers of fabric. It evenly feeds fabric layers to prevent shifting and puckering.

This Even Feed Foot is designed for low-shank SINGER sewing machines. Always check your machine's manual or our compatibility chart to ensure a perfect fit.

A walking foot is ideal for quilting cottons, matching plaids or stripes, and sewing on challenging fabrics like velvet, vinyl, and some knits that tend to slip.

To install, simply remove the standard presser foot and shank, then attach the walking foot to the presser bar, ensuring the fork is positioned over the needle clamp screw.

Unlike a standard foot that glides over fabric, the Even Feed Foot has built-in feed dogs that work with your machine's feeders to grip and move the top layer of fabric in sync with the bottom.
